Week of Oct. 25th
Monday we enjoyed gymnastics. We went back to Costco for Sydney's consequence. She did well riding in the cart and understanding why. Audrey was celebrating her anniversary so we didn't see her that afternoon. I took the girls to the book store to get Shelley's birthday present. Caitlin had a meltdown-I had to carry her out while she is screaming and kicking. Sydney held on to my pant leg walking to the car. Once we were buckled up, Sydney said, "So sad. Caitlin has to stay home next time we do errands." I think her consequence got in her brain!
Tuesday after school we went to Parent Teacher Store. They have a little sandbox the perfect size for 4 yr old fingers. The girls shared the shovel and scooper. Sydney informed us that she wants to put that on her Santa list.
Wednesday after school we went to dad's to celebrate Shelley's birthday. It is a nice ride because Sydney naps and Caitlin listens to Mary Poppins, Sesame Street or Beauty and the Beast. Somehow I tune out the music and hear quiet. Shelley enjoyed her birthday. Spencer was in town and some of her friends stopped by.
Friday we met at Cheekwood to celebrate Sandy's birthday. The girls were well behaved in the restaurant- of course we ordered when we sat down and left before Matt paid. We walked through the Chilhuly (sp?) exhibit. Melissa's belly is growing and they are talking about names now. They are trying out Molly Moore and seeing how that sounds. Sandy was thrilled to get her picnic basket from Hot Pink that Sydney picked out. Caitlin wanted to put her food in the picnic basket and take it home.
Sunday was Halloween. After dinner Jevin and Melissa, Jessie, Dad and Shelley stopped by to see their costumes. Sydney was Sleeping Beauty and Caitlin was Tinkerbell. We walked around our neighborhood. About 7 houses people answered their door, about 5 more had candy out. The highlight was our last house. This lady came to the door, speechless, teared up. I had no idea what was going on in her brain. She fell to her knees and started explaining that she has lived there 19years and has never had a trick or treater. She always buys candy but always had a disappointment. She then kept yelling at her husband for more candy. She kept filling the girls' bags with candy until all 3 of her candy bags were empty. The girls were giggling and smiling. They left with a big and loud THANK YOU! Tinkerbell asked me to carry her bag because it was so heavy. They had plenty of Skittles, Suckers and Tootsie Rolls.
