Week of August 3rd

Tuesday we went to the library. Caitlin didn't want to sit still, but the other moms were nice enough to smile at her when she walked around.
Wednesday we met Toni and her son, Hunter, at Monkey's Treehouse. Sydney's two friends from school, Hunter and Jackson are not in her class next year. She was so sad to hear but told me it's ok because she can see them in Sunday school class. Caitlin found the big slide and loved it. The girls went down at least 20 times.
Thursday we went to the zoo. Sydney has an imaginary pet tiger so that was our first stop. Then we went to the petting zoo. They brushed the goats and then one started nibbling on Sydney's shorts so it was time to go. While they were swinging Caitlin broke out in a huge fit. I took her out and she took off to the tunnel slides. She didn't want any help and climbed all the way up and knew how to get to the slide. She had never done it before and had to make 3 turns to go the right way! We were so proud! That night I hosted ADPI dinner. Sydney loved sitting at the table with us and told Matt to go away because he was a boy. She gave them all hugs before bedtime and I got to enjoy some adult conversation...what's that, right?
Friday we switched cars with Shelley. The girls love riding in the van with a tv. They watched Elmo and Little People over and over. When Matt came home we went to Opry Mills for some back to school shopping and dinner. Caitlin loved walking and Sydney loved the carousel.
Saturday we drove to Lawrenceburg to see the great grandparents. They love seeing them and we ate a terrific lunch. The girls slept well driving back home. After naps we went to the zoo for Member night. We saw the tigers and then enjoyed the playground and the carousel.
Sunday we went to church. After naps Sydney and I ran some errands before dinner. We played hide n seek and Caitlin giggled every time she found Sydney. She loves to scream "mama" and then laughs when I turn around. She points at everything and cackles when she sees birds outside. Sydney is reading more words and loves to practice writing letters. She recognizes the words: hi, nose, eyes, mouth, tiger, elephant, cats, stop, arms up.
