Week of June 15th
Monday we were going to the park but on our way it started raining. Now what do you do when you already have the kiddos buckled in and geared up for a fun day, and it is only 8:30? Well, thank goodness we have Monkey's Treehouse down the road because we played there until lunch time. Caitlin enjoyed walking around pushing all the riding toys, and Sydney introduced herself to many girls and slid down the slide about 50 times. After nap we met playgroup at Margot's house. Sydney now is the mediator when the girls argue over toys. She also loves to include "sister" and show off little sis who can walk now.
Tuesday mom took Sydney to the movies and then to the park. I am learning Sydney doesn't show her excitement when the grandparents are around. When Nanny left, Sydney kept telling me about Nanny, snacks, movie, rabbits, etc. She really does love being around them.
Wednesday we went to Karilynn's house. It was the first visit to bring both girls to play with Meg and Janey. Caitlin walked around checking out their toys and Sydney jumped with Meg and Janey. We went to dad's to nap and then tried out the pool. Caitlin wouldn't touch the water again and Sydney was still a little scared of getting more than her legs in. Andrea and VV came over and played in the playhouse and then we went to Matt's softball game. The rain started and Sydney loved to run around and let it drop on her tongue.
Thursday we went shopping for Matt's Father's Day present. We ordered a bag and then Sydney picked out some candy and a book for him. Then we went to the library for Musical Petting Zoo. Well I thought we were seeing some animals and music, but I learned it was trying out musical instruments. Matt laughed when I told him.
Friday we went to dad's to try the pool again. This time Sydney had floties and loved the baby pool. Caitlin got her feet in but was fussy a lot. We got home for lunch and Caitlin wouldn't touch her food. She was feverish and took a long nap. After naps we went to Maya's 3rd birthday party. Matt picked up Caitlin so she could rest at home. Maya had a train there to ride. Everyone rode for a couple of laps and then only Maya and Sydney wanted to ride...about 20 minutes just them. They would wave to us and then laugh and chat to each other. SO CUTE!
Saturday Caitlin felt much better and was eating again. I don't understand how she can be sick one day and fine the next. Teething? All 4 of us went to the library to see a magician. It was the Opryland magician. Matt remembered every trick and said he performed the same routine. Caitlin was not about to sit still so we took turns walking her around. Sydney enjoyed the first 20 minutes and then after the birds decided she was done.
Sunday was Father's Day. We let Matt sleep in and then went to church. Caitlin got to move up to the next class since she is walking now. Her teachers said she did so well and didn't cry once. Sydney loves church because she sees Jackson and Hunter. We tried Vittles for lunch. Fantastic! It was perfect for kids! After naps we blew up the baby pool and enjoyed the hot weather. Sydney played with the fire engine sprinkler and Caitlin loved the baby pool. She is signing more and saying mama and up. Tonight we were singing row, row, row your boat and she started babbling row row row row row row row. Her faces are precious...we are trying to get them on film so check the video soon. Sydney is talking more. Today we walked outside where Matt was getting the pool ready and yelled, "Hey honey."
