Week of Jan. 26th
Monday we got out for the first time in big girl panties. We went to gymnastics. Sydney was happy walking in, but when they started running, she wouldn't smile or even play. She stood and watched for 20 min., then wanted to go potty, then stood the rest of the hour. Caitlin and I were so frustrated! We went immediately home and I found Sydney falling asleep on the couch while I made lunch...it was 11:00...she usually goes to sleep at 1. I kept her up until 12:30 and couldn't go any longer. She slept until 4 and woke up with fever. The playgroup was at my house and they all played while Sydney rested on the couch. After they left, we bathed the girls one at a time, took temp. of 104, gave her medicine and bedtime. She woke up Tues. with 104 fever and we lounged AND STILL POTTY TRAINING for 2 days. By Wed. night she felt better so we went to Jessie's new condo to celebrate her birthday. All Sydney wanted to do is go potty and lie in Grando's lap. She still had no appetite so I kept her home from school on Thursday. This actually worked out because I haven't decided what I want to do at school...panties vs. pull ups. Friday she woke up happy, smiling, eating waffles and yogurt. I was so stir crazy in the house (my car had not been even on since last Thursday) so I took them to the downtown library to see Alice in Wonderland Puppet Show. It was fabulous and both girls enjoyed it. Sydney enjoyed it too much....she had an accident because she didn't want to leave during the show so she just didn't tell me until it was over. The best thing I found are Gerber training underwear...they are thicker panties so pee absorbs and doesn't go down her leg. We changed clothes and went home to eat lunch and nap. Friday night Andrea brought Evie over at bedtime and Matt stayed home with the babies while Andrea and I met out with Jessie for her birthday.
Saturday after nap mom, Jim, Andrea and Evie came over to celebrate Matt's birthday. We ate Jim n Nick's...great cheese biscuits and spinach dip. Matt loves their bbq. Sunday we lounged again...we haven't gone to church because of potty training. Last week all she wanted to do is sit on potty....really....every 10 minutes. Caitlin didn't enjoy the first couple of days playing in the bathroom. By the 4th day Sydney would go by herself and then I would come in to clean her up. By the 7th day she only would say she needed to go when she actually needed to go...no more false alarms. She doesn't have accidents at home and she loves to watch her stuff get flushed! She still gets 2 M&Ms or 2 morsels when she poops and eats them slowly so they will last. Caitlin wants to climb stairs all the time. She is so cute rolling around on the couch and trying to fall off in our laps. This week we stopped all baby food and she eats what we eat. She eats a lot. She is never full, we just stop feeding her. She loves all food right now, eating kidney and green beans, all fruits, turkey sandwich, casseroles, peppers, onions, peas and carrots. Her schedule is milk at 7:30, breakfast, milk at noon, lunch, milk at 4:30, dinner, and if she doesn't drink her 6oz. at each milk feeding, we give her 4oz. at 7:00, bedtime at 8:00. She is still napping 9:30-11:30 and 2:30-4:30.
