Week of Dec. 22nd
Monday we wrapped the rest of our presents. Sydney loves to put tape on the wrappings. That afternoon the girls came over for playgroup.
Tuesday after nap Kelly and Andrea came over to visit. Sydney showed off her skills in the ball pit and how fast she can run.
Wednesday was Christmas Eve. We went to mom's around lunchtime. Sydney slept for about 30 min. and was too excited to sleep anymore. Her behavior was ok considering. She really enjoyed opening presents and helping Caitlin open hers. They got a wagon, Live Elmo, baby dolls, clothes, and some toys. Sydney also loved playing with Evie's kitchen.
Thursday Santa left a candy cane trail from Sydney's door to our room. We woke up to " three, four, mommy Sydney sees FIVE candy canes." She was more excited to eat a candy cane for breakfast than seeing her playdoh that Santa brought her. He brought the girls a floor piano and Caitlin loved crawling up and down. We started opening at 7 and finally finished at 10:30. Don't think we had that many gifts...we just had to pause A LOT for food, milk, diaper changes, timeouts....
That afternoon we went to dad's and opened a few more gifts. He brought the girls a train set and some cute bags. At naptime, we all celebrated that Sydney got a big girl bed. The celebration was great but she still didn't want to nap. I had to rub her back about 30 minutes until she finally was exhausted. That night we went to Leslie's for dad's family dinner. Sydney loved playing with Meg and Janey in Laine's room. Lana spoiled Caitlin rotten holding her and Caitlin slept on Jessie.
Friday mom stopped by to see what Santa brought Sydney. She was more interested in playing hide n seek. Then we went to the Moore's, ate lunch and opened some presents. Sydney slept a little bit and we all played Andrew's Rock Band. Caitlin enjoyed crawling on the pool table. The boys went to the Predators' game and Sandy and I bathed the girls. They were asleep before we even got on the interstate.
Saturday we started our day early...ate lunch at 10:30 and napped at noon. We went to Steve and Kathy's house at 2 for the Moore's family lunch. It was a nice day so they could run outside and fly kites.
Sunday we went to Lawrenceburg to see grandmama and granddaddy. Sydney did well on the road for about 30 minutes and then started fussing. So of course she woke Caitlin up and they both started fussing. She wasn't on her best behavior at grandmama's so we left around 2 and they both slept the entire way home. Caitlin transferred to the crib but after about 20 minutes she was screaming so loudly. All of Caitlin and her crib was covered in poop. After cleaning up and putting a load in the washer, she then threw up everywhere on the carpet and some of Sydney's toys. So the girls took a bath early that night. We then put on Speakee, our Spanish dvds, and Matt and I cleaned up the Christmas tree and decorations. It is definitely more challenging with two kids this year. It has been a fun week but we are exhausted!
