Week of Nov. 23rd
Monday we dropped Caitlin off at Gama's and Sydney and I went to the dentist. She watched Marty clean my teeth and then she was excited for her turn. She was fidgety but made it through happily. She got to pick out a toy and picked lipgloss. The whole week she carried that lipgloss in her purse and made sure her lips were shiny...and her cheeks, chin and nose.
Tuesday we met church friends at the gym. They kids ran around and enjoyed playing with other kid's toys. Caitlin ran up and down the court while Sydney played chase.
Wednesday we went to the library for storytime. Andrea and Evie surprised us. The girls did well sitting and listening. After naps we went to Sandy's for dinner. The grandparents and Andrew enjoyed listening to the girls sing and playing hide n seek.
Thursday was Thanksgiving. We started the day eating a big feast at Sandy's. We always love Grandmama's butternut cake and all the sides Gama makes. After naps we enjoyed another feast at Kathy's with dad's family. The kids put on a talent show and Sydney sang Rock a Bye Baby.
Friday we decorated the house for Christmas. The girls loved opening boxes. After naps we ate dinner at Andrea's house with the siblings. Spencer, Jessie and Dustin took turns playing hide n seek with the girls.
Saturday we met at Portrait Innovations with mom's family. She has been asking for a family photo so we finally put it on the calendar. The girls posed great for about 15 minutes and then started to get hungry. She got some great photos of the family. We then ate lunch at Mimi's and the girls took turns walking around the table tickling everyone. Sydney made it home without falling asleep and both took great long naps...much needed after this week.
Sunday church was very sad. Our friend, Misty George, passed away. Our kids are friends and we are in Sunday school with them. We pray for their families and those beautiful kids. They told us when someone close dies so suddenly you don't want to give details to the young kids. Their advice was to say she was very sick and now is up in heaven. Keep is simple.
After naps we went to mom's to celebrate her Thanksgiving. The girls twirled and played stop/go. Mom cooked a terrific meal and had some yummy banana pudding.
The other day Sydney asked if daddy was in school. I told her we have already been in school and now it is her turn. She asked how long she would have to go. I told her until she is about 25 years old. She said, "No. I go to school and when I learn the Z then school is over." At her preschool they have a letter of the week so she knows that school is over this year when she learns the letter Z. so cute!
