Week of May 19th
Tuesday we hosted playgroup. The girls ate lunch outside on Sydney's new table.
Thursday was Sydney's birthday. Matt surprised us and took off work. We met Andrea and Evie at the zoo. Matt rode the carousal with Sydney and she opened some presents during our picnic lunch. It was a great and LONG day. We came home for her nap and everyone crashed.
Friday was Sydney's 2 yr. appt. We have been practicing using her own doctor's kit. What I didn't practice is weighing and measuring her. She kicked and fitted with the nurse. When Dr. Smeltzer came in he played peek a boo and gave her some stickers to help her relax. When he pulled out his stethoscope Sydney's eyes got so big. She scrambled in her kit for hers and was so proud to show him. She did so well! Caitlin on the other hand screamed the entire visit until we left...of course then she fell asleep in the car. Audrey and her bunch were at our house when we drove up. The girls played extremely well together. I toddler proofed putting the strollers and baby dolls up so they had nothing to fight over. The both played with puzzles and threw all the balls out of the gym.
Saturday was Sydney's birthday party. Melissa and Jevin were the first to show up. At 10:15 I was worried because no one else was there. Finally everyone started to arrive. Madeleine has a fear of men so she wasn't herself. Sydney had a little cold but she still played with everyone and opened some awesome presents: easel, piano, aquadoodle, sprinkler, pool clothes & towel, firetruck, shopping cart, water bottle, magnet letters, etc. She is truly blessed!
Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day at mom's house. Sydney woke up feeling awful so she was a screamer all day. We took turns strolling her. That night I started feeling bad. Andrea called and said Evie was a little sick too. We are taking it easy next week!
