Week of May 11th
Monday we went to gymnastics and we hosted playgroup that afternoon. They love to build a pillow pit and jump in.
Tuesday was black and white day at Sydney's school. I took ice cream sandwiches for snacks. That afternoon we played in our back yard. We like to play hide n seek and Caitlin laughs every time so Sydney finds us quickly. That night we had our first Book Club Meeting at my house. We discussed The No-Cry Discipline Solution. Great read.
Wednesday after nap we went to Matt's softball game. The girls played in the dirt and loved following Lou and Laine around.
Thursday was Sydney's last day of school. When I picked her up Miss Rachel said Jackson cried because he walked Sydney outside to the cars and had to let go of her hand. After nap we met Andrea and Evie at the Nature Center Park. Last fall they built a nature park with a slide, a dirt hill, a log house, a tee pee, and it sits beside the creek.
Friday was our first day putting Caitlin on one nap. To keep her awake throughout the morning, we met Sandy and Andrea and Evie at the zoo. We did not see one animal. We went straight to the playground and then to the carousel. The girls loved crawling, swinging and even rolling. Caitlin did not care for the carousel with Sandy, but Sydney loved picking out which animal to ride. Caitlin only took a 2 hr. nap so we knew to gear up for the weekend of training.
Saturday Caitlin woke up at 6:45am because her big sister was up and doesn't like to whisper. We are trying to get her to sleep until 7:30 so then her nap would be at 12:30. We drove to Lawrenceburg for the great grandparents' Smith reunion. It was such a nicer trip with Caitlin being a little older. We took dad's car with a tv so they enjoyed Elmo, Baby Einstein and Mary Poppins. Sydney tried to play with the boys and the ball and we saw that she fit right in. One boy walked up to Caitlin and Sydney ran over there, stepped in the middle of them and said, "That is MY sister." When she sees Caitlin crying she runs over and kisses her head and says "It's ok baby. Count to 10 and it will go away." The drive home was nice with the girls napping. We ate dinner at the Red Caboose for their annual picnic. Andrea and Evie met us.
Sunday Caitlin slept until 7 and took a great 3 hr. nap. She is doing great! She isn't fussy at all in the mornings and goes to sleep easily at 7:30 for bedtime. Church was great because it kept her awake. That night we went to Moss Wright for Matt's make up softball game. It was a bit chilly so Sydney would bury her legs and feet in the dirt. She tried to bury Caitlin's but Caitlin would scream and then rub her eyes with dirt on her fingers. We went through a box of wipes.
